Fiction sometimes has the air of déjà vu. On the bill for “Fausse note” from next Wednesday, Benoît Poelvoorde plays a renowned conductor confronted with an insistent admirer (played by Kad Merad). A situation which is not completely foreign to the Belgian actor. Invited on Saturday on the set of the show “C à vous”, he recounted having himself been confronted with an individual who broke into his home three times.
“He came in because I left the door open,” he said. “My dog did absolutely nothing. He emptied my fridge, then he sat down, he watched me sleep, he went back down to the kitchen.” And then stayed and “appeared to me in the early morning. I was naked as a worm and he was there, with his beard and a shepherd’s vest, in the middle of the living room. He said to her: “You knew I would come.” “That’s when I got the scare of my life,” reports the actor, who links this to the fact that he had just released the film “The Brand New Testament” in which he played God.
“The guy was a fan of me and was convinced that God had sent him to me,” Benoît Poelvoorde explained to the Belgian press. The individual did it again twice, the actor chased him away with a cane and said: “You are crazy.”
