A motion filed in a Tennessee court accuses the nephew of singer Dolly Parton, who died in August, of having orchestrated a campaign of threats to appropriate money from her estate, according to several American media.

According to the specialized media TMZ, which consulted the court document on Tuesday, the singer’s long-time manager, Danny Nozell, denounces “threats” and “intimidation” from Bryan Seaver, son of Dolly Parton’s younger sister and security agent for her properties for more than twenty years.

According to the New York Times, the request filed with the Nashville court by the company “She’s Alive”, the company responsible for managing the star’s numerous commercial activities, contains text messages in which Mr. Seaver allegedly threatens Mr. Nozell to become “the avenging arm for his entire family.”

If this request is granted, Mr. Seaver will be required to stay away from his aunt’s company properties and will be prohibited from having contact with her employees and business partners.

In a message to the New York Times on Wednesday, Mr. Seaver said he was conducting his own investigation into how the singer’s affairs were managed at the time of her death, rejecting any accusation that he was “some kind of opponent of her brand and her legacy.”

The man who announced Dolly Parton’s death in a video last month was fired last week from his role as head of security for the singer’s properties, according to TMZ.

The death of Dolly Parton at the age of 80, after a brief battle with cancer, caused great emotion in the United States, with Donald Trump even ordering flags to be flown at half-mast for a week.

In addition to her very long musical career, punctuated by numerous hits like “9 to 5” and “Jolene”, Dolly Parton has built a veritable empire, notably with the Dollywood theme park in her native Tennessee, which welcomes nearly four million visitors per year.

The singer’s fortune is estimated at $450 million according to the specialist site Forbes. Her husband, Carl Dean, died last year and the couple had no children.
