Luck smiled on a British player on Friday evening. The only one to have found the winning combination of the EuroMillions, he pocketed the entire jackpot, the tidy sum of 130 million euros.
To win this jackpot, you had to find the five winning numbers, namely 11, 12, 15, 38 and 49, as well as the two stars, 10 and 12. Only one grid validated across Europe contained the perfect combination: that of the now extremely wealthy British player.
A real stroke of luck since the probability of winning the EuroMillions jackpot with a simple grid is approximately one in 140 million. The identity of the winner has not been revealed.
EuroMillions brings together millions of players across Europe for two draws organized each week. Nine countries officially participate in the lottery: Switzerland, France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Ireland, Austria and Luxembourg. Players from several smaller European states and territories, including Monaco, Andorra, Liechtenstein and the Isle of Man, can also try their luck.
