On Tuesday, French actress Anne-Élisabeth Blateau was arrested in the Bois de Vincennes, in Paris. Obviously drunk, she allegedly manhandled her son before strongly resisting his arrest.
Based on several sources, “Le Parisien” affirms that the 50-year-old actress was indeed arrested for “violence committed by a heavily alcoholic mother on her minor child”.
The lawyer for the actress famous for her role as Emma in “Scènes de households” (M6) did not detail what happened. But she affirmed in a press release sent to the French daily that her client will not be subject to prosecution.
The Paris prosecutor’s office, however, indicated to AFP this Friday that the actress has indeed been sanctioned and that she will have to follow a “parental responsibility course” and received a “therapeutic injunction” after violence against her son.
Anne-Élisabeth Blateau’s lawyer said that her client suffers from “bipolarity” and “has decided to step aside in the coming weeks to rest and devote herself fully to her care and her family.”
The lawyer clarified that the actress “needs this phase of reconstruction and respect for her privacy before finding her audience”.
Anne-Élisabeth Blateau had already had problems with the police in the past, apparently linked to alcohol abuse. In 2019, she issued a public apology and expressed “shame” after being taken into custody for an altercation with firefighters and police officers. In 2021, she was also reportedly hospitalized after insulting officers.
