Mohamed Sanhadji, logistics and security manager of the French team, was indicted on Wednesday, in particular for corruption of a person holding public authority, in the so-called Kylian Mbappé donation affair, the Paris prosecutor’s office said on Friday.
As revealed by the newspaper L’Equipe, the judicial control of this former police officer prohibits him from any contact with “the players of the current and past national teams, the current staff of the French team, the current and past selectors of the French team, the current and past presidents and staff of the French Football Federation, the directors and deputy directors of the DCCRS (Central Directorate of Republican Security Companies, editor’s note) since 2011.”
He cannot, “unless express authorization” from the magistrate, appear “at the headquarters of the French Football Federation (FFF), at the Clairefontaine Training Center, at the Stade de France and at the Parc des Princes”, continued the prosecution. He was also given a bond of 80,000 euros.
Its judicial control also prevents it from carrying out “any national police activity and any professional activity in the professional sports sector”, in particular any activity “paid for by a French or foreign club or a French or foreign sports federation, in particular the French football federation, but also international federations”.
Mohamed Sanhadji, police officer responsible for the security of the Blues from 2004 to December 2025, had to take early retirement from the national police, sanctioned after receiving a donation of 60,300 euros from Kylian Mbappé after the 2022 World Cup, without having informed his hierarchy.
Highly appreciated by the players and by the Federation, he was then recruited directly by the FFF to accompany the Blues to the 2026 World Cup and is currently in management, in charge of logistics and security.
In June 2023, shortly after the World Cup in Qatar, he received a check for 60,300 euros from Kylian Mbappé, coming from his 2022 World Cup bonus.
This “donation of use” was reported by a banker to Tracfin, the financial intelligence unit of Bercy, in July 2024, triggering the opening of a judicial investigation for concealed work and laundering of tax fraud. A judicial investigation was opened in January 2026.
In this context, investigating magistrates indicted him on September 16 for “concealment of embezzlement of public funds”, “active corruption of a person holding public authority”, “active influence peddling on a person holding public authority”, “passive influence peddling by a person holding public authority”, “passive international influence peddling”, “passive corruption by a person holding public authority”. The accused is also being prosecuted for fraud and laundering tax fraud.
“The Federation does not comment on ongoing legal proceedings, but will draw the consequences with regard to the person concerned and will file a civil suit,” a federal source assured AFP on Friday.
