It was a transformed Marius Borg Høiby who showed up at the funeral of King Harald V on September 9 in Oslo. The son of Queen Mette-Marit struck people’s minds with his physical appearance, very different from what we knew him to be.
At 29, the young man now appears both slimmer and more muscular. His shoulders seem to have broadened and his features more defined. Her hairstyle has also changed style: formerly straightened and slicked back, her hair is now shorter and wavier.
This change could be explained by his daily life in recent months. According to the Norwegian magazine “Se og Hør”, Marius was already practicing bodybuilding during his pre-trial detention in Oslo, where it would have been an integral part of his routine. Still according to “Se og Hør”, he is currently under house arrest on the royal estate of Skaugum. He would continue his training there, a new rhythm of life which seems to have visible effects on his appearance.
Beyond sport, a healthier lifestyle could also explain this change. Since his arrest in February, Marius Borg Høiby has reportedly no longer had access to alcohol or drugs. In May, he declared in court that he was “absolutely clean.”
Aesthetic procedures?
A cosmetic surgeon explains that more regular sleep and stopping alcohol could visibly change facial features. Alcohol and drugs can especially cause a puffy appearance. After several months of abstinence, the face may appear fresher and more defined.
On the Internet, however, some people are speculating about possible cosmetic procedures. Observers mention injections to the lips, chin or jaw. No evidence supports these hypotheses, on which Marius Borg Høiby has not commented. His new hairstyle also raises questions: some Internet users wonder if he would have used a perm.
If his new look fuels comments, his legal situation remains serious. Sentenced in June to four years in prison for several crimes, including rape and violence within a relationship, he appealed this decision. Pending the continuation of the procedure, he remains under house arrest as part of his pre-trial detention.
