Embolo goes to the United States for 14 million francs

Swiss international striker Breel Embolo left Rennes after a single season in Brittany to join Atlanta United in MLS, the two clubs announced on Sunday.

According to the specialist site Transfermarkt, the amount of the transfer is estimated at around 15 million euros (14 million francs).

Aged 29 and born in Cameroon, Embolo played in Basel, Schalke 04 and Borussia Monchengladbach before joining Ligue 1 in 2022, under the colors of Monaco, where he stayed for three seasons.

Embolo joined Rennes last season, playing 34 matches in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and 3 assists.

A Swiss international since 2015, he has worn the Nati jersey 92 times, scoring 26 goals. He participated in the 2026 World Cup, where he scored two goals and provided two assists, as Switzerland was eliminated in the quarter-finals by Argentina.
