On Monday, Patrick Bruel announced the cancellation of his tour, which was to begin at the beginning of October and visit the Geneva Arena on November 18. The singer said on Instagram that his tour was not a “provocation”, but he regretted that it had become “the incarnation of a debate which goes beyond it”.
On BFMTV, the lawyer of the star indicted for rape and sexual violence added on Wednesday that Bruel had also been threatened. Fanny Colin affirmed that the cancellation was necessary following “threats that were made via social networks”, including “calls for intrusions into performance halls”.
“We are endangering the safety of the public, of the teams and he did not want to take any risk,” added the lawyer for the 67-year-old star, stressing that giving up the singing tour in no way represents a confession.
Patrick Bruel is accused of harassment or sexual violence by around thirty women. He is indicted for rape, attempted rape, assault or sexual harassment of four women. He is presumed innocent.
