Viewers who are passionate about alpine skiing will have to get used to a few new voices when they follow the exploits of Marco Odermatt and Corinne Suter on “RTS”. The French-speaking television channel has decided to make a small revolution in its team of commentators and consultants dedicated to alpine skiing.
It must be said that this 2026-2027 season will be marked by a major event: the World Championships in Crans-Montana, from February 1 to 14, 2027. The opportunity was therefore ideal to make some changes.
Specialized consultants depending on the type of tests
For the men’s events, there will not be a lot of changes. John Nicolet will be the commentator and will always be accompanied by Patrice Morisod from Valais for the speed events. On the other hand, he will comment on the technical events with Vaudois Marc Rochat, recently retired from the White Circus.
In women, the changes are more numerous. Commentator Romain Roseng gives way to the duo formed by Gaëlle Cajeux and Patrick Délétroz. “The two journalists will intervene either in tandem or alternately,” specifies RTS. As for the consultants, they will be the same as for the men.
“Until last season we had one consultant for the ladies and another for the men. From now on, these specialists are planned according to the type of event, which better corresponds to their profile,” explains Nathalie Ducommun, the head of sports at the RTS. Former consultant, Hugues Ansermoz still remains in the team. He will serve as an expert on programs such as “Sport Dimanche”.
Latest news, RTS has got its hands on Veronika Velez-Zuzulová. The Slovak, winner of five World Cup events, will occasionally act as a consultant.
