“Cancer is really difficult. It’s very sad to see,” says Hunter Biden. Visibly moved, he specifies that the disease has “metastasized to the skeleton and beyond” and that it is now “very painful”. The former US president underwent intensive radiotherapy treatment.

Despite illness, Joe Biden would remain attentive to American political life. His son describes the former president as the “pillar” of his family and praises his ability to overcome challenges: “He is the toughest man I know.”

Hunter Biden also looks back on his father’s disastrous televised debate against Donald Trump during the 2024 presidential campaign. He says he immediately understood that “something was wrong.” After the diagnosis was announced, he wondered if the disease had not already affected Joe Biden at that time.

The interview finally addresses the presidential pardon granted to Hunter Biden by his father in December 2024. The son of the former president recognizes today that this decision was “not good” for the United States, the Constitution nor for the political legacy of Joe Biden.
