Last year, the two lovebirds even got engaged, Cristiano Ronaldo offering his 32-year-old Argentinian partner a ring estimated at 5 million dollars (around 4 million francs). “It’s the least he could offer after 10 years of waiting,” Georgina declared in the newspaper “Elle Spain”.
So everyone was waiting for their wedding date. And according to “The Sun”, it would be for Saturday.
Two floors of a hotel reserved
The Al-Nassr player and his partner would have chosen the Funchal Cathedral for the ceremony, a place full of symbolism since it is in this city, on the island of Madeira, that Cristiano Ronaldo was born.
According to the British daily, the two lovers would have reserved two floors of the five-star Savoy Palace hotel, not far from the venue of the ceremony, which was confirmed by customers informed in advance. Several bars would also have been privatized.
During an interview before the World Cup, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner revealed that the wedding was planned after the competition and that he hoped to “arrive at (his) wedding with the champion trophy”.
He will appear without it, his country and him having been eliminated by the Spanish world champions, but his happiness will certainly not be diminished.
