Ariana Grande has initiated proceedings in a California court against a group of anonymous computer hackers, accused of having stolen and distributed confidential content belonging to her for years, reports According to “Billboard”.
According to the complaint filed Monday, the hackers allegedly targeted photographers, producers and other collaborators of the singer in order to obtain unreleased songs, photos and private videos that were not intended to be made public.
Ariana Grande’s lawyers denounce a serious invasion of her privacy. “Neither Ms. Grande nor any other person, famous or not, should suffer such violations of their privacy committed by individuals who operate in the shadows,” they write.
No suspects identified
Court documents mention hundreds of leaks since 2011. In 2023 alone, 45 unreleased songs would have been stolen and then illegally distributed, including “Fantasize»“That Bitch Is Mine And “White Tee».
The complaint also details several hacking operations. In 2019, the authors allegedly managed to access the Dropbox account of a photographer working with the singer. The following year, the cell phone of one of its producers was allegedly compromised. In 2024, a technician working with another photographer was reportedly the victim of a phishing attack, with hackers using a fake Gmail address to obtain confidential files.
No suspects have been identified at this stage. The procedure currently targets unknown people, referred to as “John Doe”. Ariana Grande hopes that justice will now make it possible to identify those responsible, in particular by obtaining information from Internet service providers.
