The breakdown occurred around 11:45 p.m. between Yonne and Côte-d’Or and the prefectures of the two departments mobilized resources to provide assistance and distribute water to passengers. No evacuation took place. Personnel from the Côte-d’Or gendarmerie group were also deployed on site, according to a press release.

The breakdown was taken care of by a technical team and traffic was restored on Saturday morning, the company Trenitalia said on its X account.

The incident was due to “technical difficulties encountered with the rolling stock,” said an SNCF Réseau spokesperson. The breakdown “disrupts traffic between Dijon and Paris, in both directions (…) The return to a normal situation is estimated at midday,” adds SNCF Réseau.
