Before their wedding, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce donated $26 million (approximately 21 million francs) to 20 charities across the United States. A large part of this sum will be devoted to the fight against poverty and food insecurity, reports “Variety”. Several food banks in New York, Los Angeles and Kansas City will each receive one million dollars to distribute meals and foodstuffs to the most deprived families.
The couple also supports programs promoting access to musical education for disadvantaged young people, pediatric hospitals, research against childhood cancers, as well as animal welfare associations and organizations that offer free books to young children.
Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce chose to help several structures located in his city, including a regional food bank and a children’s hospital.
Taylor Swift, for her part, is already known for her philanthropic commitment. During her Eras Tour, she increased donations to food banks in the cities visited and paid nearly $197 million in bonuses to members of her team.
