The US military carried out another strike on Saturday against a suspected drug trafficking boat in the Pacific, killing three men, officials said.
This attack brings to more than 200 the total number of people killed – according to an AFP count – since the Trump administration launched its offensive in September.
In a message published on “Three male narcoterrorists were killed during this action,” he added.
Black and white video footage accompanying the message showed the boat stationary in the open sea before being engulfed by a violent explosion.
Donald Trump’s administration has never provided solid proof that the targeted vessels were actually involved in trafficking. Experts and UN officials have denounced extrajudicial killings. An internal monitoring body at the Pentagon will investigate their legality, American media reported last week.
