After pushing the limits of her body for more than forty years, Madonna is now paying the price. In an interview with the magazine Interview and published on June 22, the 67-year-old star reveals that she suffers from serious wear and tear on her knee.

“I now have a knee problem. I no longer have any cartilage, because of all these years spent dancing in high heels, running on asphalt and practicing Ashtanga yoga,” explains the queen of pop.

This deterioration forced her to thoroughly review her sporting habits. “Until a year ago, I was jumping on trampolines, doing cardio dance. I can’t do that anymore.”

However, the artist has not given up on maintaining his form. She now favors activities that are less traumatic for her joints. “Now I do the Peloton bike, the VersaClimber, and high-intensity circuit workouts. I do a lot of cycling outdoors. I dance.”

An injury that has lasted for several years

Madonna’s knee problems are not new. In October 2019, she had already been forced to postpone a concert on her tour Madame X in Brooklyn.

“It’s difficult for Madame “I’m not giving up. It hurts me more than you can imagine. It’s time to put away those heels and fishnet stockings for a few days!”

A few weeks later, three other concerts were canceled on medical advice. In March 2020, his show planned in Paris could not take place either, this time due to a torn knee ligament.

The singer’s confessions today put a name to these difficulties: after decades of physical performances and demanding choreographies, she now claims to be evolving with a knee deprived of cartilage.
