France TV chose the right moment to release its documentary entitled “Mbappé, la diplomacy du ballon.” While preparations for the next World Cup are in full swing and the selections are slowly flying off to North America, France 5 took advantage of this enthusiasm to broadcast its report on Tuesday evening.
This aims to analyze and seek to understand the influence of Kylian Mbappé off the field through the prism, in particular, of his hypermedia coverage and the reactionary hypertrophy which surrounds each of his positions.
A footballer and an “exciting” man
Involved in the production of this documentary, in which the main interested party did not participate, Laurent Delahousse gave an interview to “L’Équipe” to detail his thoughts on Kylian Mbappé, whom he finds “exciting” on a sporting and human level. But also to point out the similarities that he notes between his personality and that of Emmanuel Macron, the President of the Republic.
“Between them, I see similarities: dazzlingness, talent, intelligence but also individualism,” explains the journalist before detailing this last point. “We have the impression that they sometimes wonder if they should really listen to the others around them or if it is up to them to listen to them.”
This individualism and this desire to put oneself forward in relation to a group is also one of the main criticisms against Kylian Mbappé from football followers.
As captain of the France team, he will have the opportunity to silence them from June 11 during the 2026 World Cup. The native of Bondy already won it in 2018 and scored a hat-trick, despite the defeat against Argentina, during the final in 2022.
