Jacqueline Falk, adopted daughter of Peter Falk, the unforgettable Columbo, was found dead this week in her Los Angeles home, reports the TMZ website.
According to the medical examiner’s office, Jacqueline Falk, 60, killed herself by hanging.
“We don’t know if she left a letter,” says TMZ. Peter Falk married Alyce Mayo in 1960 and the couple subsequently adopted two daughters, Jacqueline and Catherine, before divorcing in 1976. He married actress Shera Danese the following year.
A very active actor in cinema and television – the actor was very friends with Ben Gazzara and John Cassavetes – it was with the character of Inspector Columbo, which he played on the small screen from 1968 to 1978, then from 1989 to 2003, that Peter Falk became an international star.
Suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, he died on June 23, 2011.
