Maryland State Police are currently looking into a tragic motorcycle collision that took place early on the morning of June 3rd in Prince George’s County.

The individual riding a Suzuki motorcycle, who has been identified as Johny Carrasco, 21, from Silver Spring, Maryland, was declared deceased at the scene. There were no other reported injuries.

At around 3 a.m., troopers from the Maryland State Police College Park Barrack arrived at the scene on northbound Interstate 95 at Maryland Route 198, in the local lanes, following reports of a motorcycle crash. Initial findings suggest that Carrasco’s Suzuki and a Honda Civic were both in the merge lanes of north I-95 to MD 198 when the Suzuki collided with the rear of the Honda.

Northbound I-95 had to be shut down for over an hour to conduct the crash investigation. The Maryland State Police Crash Team is spearheading the inquiry into the cause of the accident.
