The Harold Glen and Audrey G. Benson Trumpower Foundation Scholarship Fund is a component fund of The Community Foundation of Frederick County. Founded by the Trumpower Foundation, the fund provides educational scholarships to Carroll County residents.

Last year, the fund awarded 71 scholarships totaling close to $700,000.

The scholarships support students who exceed the maximum income threshold for government financial aid programs but who still have financial need or lack resources to pay for their education.

The scholarships are intended to include two-and four-year colleges and trade and technical schools, as well as non-credit certificate programs. Preference will be given to students who previously received the scholarship for up to an additional three years of financial support for a maximum total support of four years, pending the student maintains a 2.0 grade point average or higher and continues to meet the scholarship requirements.

The Community Foundation is making adjustments to the application process to account for delays with the Department of Education’s Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Important details about this and the scholarship program can be found at www.TrumpowerScholarships.org. Online applications will be accepted through April 15.

The Community Foundation of Frederick County is a recognized leader in providing scholarships to area students, made possible by generous donors who establish funds or add to existing funds. For more information about creating lasting impact in Frederick County, visit www.FrederickCountyGives.org.
