On Saturday, January 27, 2024, at approximately 3:50 PM, a Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was on routine patrol in the area of the 1200 block of Baltimore Blvd when a blue Ford Mustang was observed travelling at a high rate of speed and passing vehicles utilizing the right turn lane. The Deputy initiated a traffic stop and found that in addition to the driver’s license being suspended, several indicators of drug use were observed.
The Deputy requested a K9 scan of the vehicle. As the driver and passenger exited the vehicle for the scan, CDS paraphernalia was observed in plain view. Both the driver and passenger were then detained.

Recovered from the vehicle were approximately 17 grams of suspected cocaine, a loaded 9mm handgun, several items of CDS paraphernalia (glass pipes commonly used to smoke CDS), a digital scale, and more than $500 in U.S. Currency. Both the driver and passenger were transported to Central Booking.

The driver was identified as Eric Lorenzo Purvey, a 28 year old male with a Hanover, Pennsylvania, address. The passenger was identified as William Joseph Iser, a 55 year old male with a Westminster address. Both individuals were charged with:

  • Possession with intent to distribute Narcotics
  • Numerous charges related to illegal possession of a firearm
  • Possession of CDS Paraphernalia
  • Possession of CDS (Not cannabis)
  • Purvey was also charged with traffic offenses related to the initial stop.
