Community Media Center of Carroll County to Provide Live Coverage of the 156th Memorial Day Remembrance Parade & Ceremony

The Community Media Center (CMC) will stream live online coverage of the 156th Memorial Day Remembrance Parade and Observance Ceremony in Westminster, MD on Monday, May 29, 2023. Live coverage of the parade will kick off at 10:00 a.m. and will be followed by the memorial ceremony at 11:00 a.m. Viewers can watch the live coverage on cable channel HD-1086, channel 19, Facebook, YouTube and on the Community Media Center’s Website at https://www.carrollmediacenter.org.

The 156th annual Memorial Day Parade honors the men and women of our armed forces who made the ultimate sacrifice defending our nation. For over 80 years, The American Legion – Carroll Post 31 has remembered our fallen servicemen and women through the Memorial Day Remembrance Parade and Observance Ceremony in Westminster, MD.

For nearly three decades, the Community Media Center has worked in partnership with the American Legion – Carroll Post 31 to produce the annual program that features one of the longest-running Memorial Day Parades in the nation. The parade starts on Pennsylvania Avenue in Westminster and ends on Church Street at the Westminster Cemetery. The Community Media Center will have one production crew covering the parade route on Main Street in downtown Westminster, and another crew will be set up in the Westminster Cemetery to record the ceremony to honor our military service men and women.

In addition to live streaming coverage Memorial Day Remembrance Parade & Observance Ceremony, the Community Media Center will feature a full day of special programming on channel HD-1086 and channel 19 including an Honor Roll of Carroll County service men & women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country as well as veteran interviews from the Carroll County History Projects Oral History Collection, as a tribute to local veterans.

The Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony will be rebroadcast on local cable channel HD-1086 and on channel 19 and posted on the Community Media Center’s website for on-demand viewing. For additional air dates and times visit https://www.carrollmediacenter.org.
