During the Budget Work Sessions held by Carroll County Commissioners on April 6th the discussion of “revenue” and “taxes” played a significant role in those two sessions.

While final decisions have not been made regarding the upcoming budget, there were two Commissioners that made statements of significance on the topic of the possibility of increasing taxes in the upcoming budget:

Commissioner Mike Guerin noting he was unequivocally opposed to raising taxes right now.

Commissioner Joe Vigliotti noted he echoes the sentiment of Commissioner Guerin and has grave reservations about raising taxes

Opinion: I appreciate Commissioner Vigliotti mentioning that these are difficult economic times and that citizens are facing difficulties in every day life. It is nice to hear that elected officials recognize that fact and say it out loud.
