The Community Media Center and parent-teacher school groups to hold South Carroll Board of Education Candidates Forum on October 24th

The Community Media Center (CMC) has partnered with the Liberty High School PTSO and the Oklahoma Road Middle School PTA to hold and broadcast the South Carroll BOE Candidates Forum on Monday, October 24, 2022 at 6:30 p.m.

The forum is being held at Liberty High School and will be streamed live on cable channels 19 and HD-1086 and will be recorded for rebroadcast. It will also be live streamed and available for on demand viewing on CMC’s Facebook page and on the Community Media Center’s online voters’ guide at carrollmediacenter.org.

All six candidates for the Carroll County Board of Education have confirmed their participation. They are: Tara Battaglia, Patricia Ann Dorsey, Amanda Jozkowski, James Miller, Tom Scanlan and Steve Whisler.

To submit a question for the candidates, email southcarrollforum@gmail.com. The deadline for questions to be submitted is October 23, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. No questions will be accepted the night of the forum. Registration is required to attend the forum. Click here to register for the event.

Bob Blubaugh, managing editor of digital content for the Community Media Center, will serve as moderator for the event.

The Community Media Center, the Liberty High School PTSO and the Oklahoma Road Middle School PTA are conducting this forum as a public service for the residents of Carroll County and do not endorse any political candidate or political organization. This event is not affiliated with Carroll County Public Schools.

In addition to the Board of Education candidate’s forum, the Community Media Center has created a special online voters’ guide on the CMC website. The voters’ guide includes a listing of candidates running for additional public offices in the 2022 general election. The site features candidate video profiles, forums listings and coverage, important election dates, and links to sites for additional voter information.

Maryland’s general election is set for November 8, 2022 from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. For more election information, visit the Community Media Center’s online voters’ guide, Carroll County Board of Elections website or the state’s Board of Elections website.
