They formed an iconic couple in the early 2000s: in addition to their feelings, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake shared the same love for music and worked together on numerous projects which, for many, remained in the pipeline.
To mark the 25th anniversary of the release of “Britney”, the pop icon is offering a reissue (November 6) with five new tracks including “She’ll Never Be Me”, composed by Bradley Daymond, Alex Greggs, and therefore a certain Justin Timberlake. On this title, we can recognize the touch of the interpreter of “Cry me a river” but also and above all hear it since he does the backing vocals.
Painful breakup
Surprising that the singer “invited” her ex on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of her third studio album, knowing that their breakup in 2002 did not go extremely well and that she has bitter memories of the way the singer treated her. In her autobiography released in 2023, “The Woman in Me”, she criticized him in particular for having forced her to have an abortion.
In addition to “She’ll Never Be Me,” Britney Spears will unveil four other unreleased tracks, “Am I a Sinner,” “When I Say So, My Big Secret” and a studio version of “Right Now (Taste the Victory),” a title that appeared in the ad she shot for Pepsi in 2002.
Britney Spears, 44, has not released a studio album since “Glory” in 2016, and today makes headlines more for her escapades than for her music, to the great dismay of her fans who dream of seeing her return to the stage.
