After a painful defeat at Vernets, the Genevans showed a completely different state of mind in Lausanne. They were first able to quickly materialize in powerplay after already a penalty against Marti in the first two minutes of the match.
The second third saw Praplan score a second goal in two games while Lausanne dominated a lot but lacked success.
The start of the third third was crazy for the Genevans who were able to score twice in less than two minutes, by Verboon and Puljujarvi. This 4-0 marked the exit of Pasche and the arrival of Hughes in front of the cage.
Geneva then continued the punishments and Brannstrom was able to score after nine seconds at five on three. Riat was also able to reduce the score but that was not enough to revive the Lions who saw Caggiula end the match in the locker room for a fight. Act five in Geneva on Sunday evening!
Zurich qualifies
In Lugano, the Lions continued their demonstration. Malgin’s pass for the first goal and the conclusion of the second allowed his team to qualify in four acts for new semi-finals.
The reigning champion can therefore calmly rest and follow the matches of the other series which will extend a little.
