A dozen fish found dead in a polluted stream

Around 8:15 a.m., the Friborg Cantonal Police Engagement and Alarm Center was informed of the presence of dead fish in the watercourse. Dispatched to the site, the wildlife warden and the Environment Department confirmed the impact on the ecosystem. Around ten dead fish were recorded over a stretch of around 200 meters.

In order to limit the damage, firefighters from the Sarine Battalion diluted the contaminated water with fresh water. The intervention is now complete.

Analyzes are currently underway to determine the origin of the pollution.
