Prince Harry reunites with King Charles after 18 months of silence

It’s an image that many no longer expected. Eighteen months after their last meeting, Prince Harry and King Charles finally met again. According to “People”, the Duke of Sussex, aged 40, arrived by car at Clarence House, the sovereign’s London residence, on Wednesday September 10 late in the afternoon.

The meeting comes after father and son had not had direct contact since February 2024, shortly after the king revealed that he was being treated for cancer, the nature of which was never specified. According to people close to the prince, his calls and messages remained unanswered for many months.

Harry, back in the United Kingdom since September 8, has increased his public engagements. He first paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II on the third anniversary of her death, before attending the WellChild Awards, then traveling to Nottingham to support youth initiatives.

On the same day of this meeting, he visited the Center for Blast Injury Studies at Imperial College London, while the king returned to the capital after a stay at Balmoral. This face-to-face meeting marks a symbolic moment in a relationship long marked by distance and tensions.

Harry himself confided last May, during an interview with the BBC, that he hoped for a “reconciliation”. The Clarence House meeting could be the first step.
