Buckingham Palace announced that Queen Camilla will not be present at the funeral of the Duchess of Kent on Tuesday afternoon. The 78 -year -old queen is currently recovering from an illness.
A spokesperson for the palace said: “It was with a great regret that Her Majesty the Queen gave up attending the Requiem mass for the Duchess of Kent this afternoon, because she recovers from an acute sinusitis.” And to add: “His thoughts and prayers will accompany the Duke of Kent and the whole family.”
The Duke of Kent was informed and fully understands Camilla’s decision. He addressed his wishes for a speedy recovery to the Queen.
“Camilla hopes to recover by Wednesday”
If Camilla will not be able to go to the ceremony, the prince and the princess of Wales will witness the funeral of the Duchess of Kent, confirmed Kensington Palace. As for Charles III, he is preparing for the arrival of Donald Trump who arrives this Tuesday evening in London. The British agency PA said: “Camilla hopes to recover by Wednesday to be able to attend the events planned as part of the state visit of the two -day American president”.
