The Drummondville autodrome, Quebec, was the scene of an accident as spectacular as terrifying on Monday evening, during a Super Dirtcar Series event. As “TVA Sports” relates, the Canadian pilot Stewart Friesen saw the death closely in the 17th round, when he hit another vehicle before losing control of his racing car.

His car with number 44 violently struck the concrete wall before being propelled into the air. The experienced 42 -year -old pilot made several barrels and his vehicle caught fire before falling on the track. Worthy of an action film, the scene was followed by another collision, when a vehicle came to hit the carcass of Friesen’s car.

Published on social networks, images of the accident quickly toured the web and accumulated more than a million views in a few hours.

Reassuring message from his wife

While the crowd, witness to the swerry, feared the worst, Stewart Friesen survived the accident. Transported to the hospital while he was aware, the Ontarian suffers from fractures of the basin and the right leg which require surgical interventions.

His wife, Jessica, reassured the fans about his condition through a publication on Facebook: “His head, his neck and his column are not affected, but he suffers a lot. Thank you to the manufacturers for building a car as safe as possible, and the track team for its hard work to extract Stew from the car. ”

The pilot was transferred to a New York hospital establishment where his condition was considered serious, but stable.
