The canton of Vaud, guest of honor of the 11th Swiss competition for local products, is renamed for its rich culinary heritage, reflecting the diversity of its terroir and its traditions. Will the most medal canton of the latest editions are again the challenge?
The 11th Swiss Terroir Products Competition is officially launched and the next Vacherin Mont-D’or Aop festival is preparing. This fall, culinary experts and consumers will reward the best Swiss regional products in Courtemelon. On September 27 & 28, 2025, 150 exhibitors will present their products at the Swiss Terroir Festival. This weekend also marks the start of the Vacherin Mont-D’or Aop season, iconic Vaudois cheese.
See you on September 27 at the Charbonnières to taste the first vacherins of the season during the 27th Vacherin Mont-D’or festival.
A nod to the Vacherin Mont-d’or Aop
Its flowing dough, the spruce strap which surrounds it and the spruce box (100% local manufacturing according to ancestral know-how) in which it is marketed give this cheese of the Vaudois Jura a special place in the world of Swiss cheeses. Another remarkable singularity, the Vacherin Mont-d’Or Aop remains the seasonal cheese it has always been: it is only found in the business between the end of September (launch at the Vacherin Mont-D’or Aop festival) and the very beginning of spring.
