Let’s not forget the fair trade …

- Jackson Avery

Whether we wanted it or not, by shopping we endorse systems. More and more people are attentive and try, when possible, to choose organic, premises and fair. Let us not forget that fair trade is a simple and effective way to support precarious or oppressed populations.

The current period is deleterious for international solidarity … Between the United States which almost completely removes international cooperation budgets and the financial cuts practiced by states, including in Switzerland, development cooperation programs are in immense difficulty. Main victims: the poorest populations in low -income countries, which are also on the front line in the face of the effects of climate change. In this extremely tense context, it is essential to remember that an effective way of helping the South is to buy fair.

Buying fair is also, sometimes, to act of resistance by supporting producers of oppressed regions, such as Ukraine or Palestine.

The fair trade carried by the 35 stores in the world of French -speaking Switzerland really changes things! And these specialized stores, born 50 years ago and more necessary than ever, need customer support to continue to promote a fairer business. Make them visit and make one stone two shots: support a business respectful of humans and the environment and allow a movement that makes information and awareness of continuing its precious work!
