Difficult to speak of young parents in the case of Mommy and Abrazzo. The first has an age estimated at 97 and the second 96 years. It is a couple of Galápagos turtles, which resides at the Philadelphe zoo, since April 1932 for the female, but only since December 2020 for the male. They have not been together for a long time, but their union has borne fruit.
In November 2024, the mother laid 16 eggs and four hatched on February 26, according to GMA. Others may still be born. The babies will be presented to the public on April 23, the date of the 93ᵉ anniversary of the mother’s arrival in the zoo. The four little ones, which are all females, go well and weigh between 70 and 80 grams. A competition will be launched to give them a name.
