Fashion Week: in Paris, the great reversal

- Jackson Avery

Coats worn upside down, half put on sweaters, pants that turn into a dress … The Paris women’s fashion week, which ended on Tuesday, was the scene of a fashionable fashion.

“There is a real thing to destroy clothing” in the fall-winter 2025-2026 collections, underlines the fashion journalist Matthieu Bobard Delière, former of “Elle”. A trend to which the young guard succumbed but also the big houses.

Backwards

The young claw zomer has notably distinguished itself with a very colorful recto collection, made of dresses, jackets, shirts or coats that are worn upside down and where the jackets are displayed as well in dress and skirt.

“A bit like children who dress themselves for the first time, without knowing the rules,” said the Dutch creators based in Paris Danial Aitouganov and Imruh Asha.

At Givenchy, the new British artistic director Sarah Burton also presented, for her first collection for the French house, blazer dresses worn upside down but split on the chest to create an elegant neckline.

Reversible

Marie Adam-Leenaerdt played, for his part, on duplication, with reversible clothes. The dresses and coats are first presented to the place, before being worn upside down by the models.

“For me, it is really important in this season to show the multifunctionality of clothing, because it is still something that is very strong in the DNA of the brand,” said the Belgian designer to the press.

At Yohji Yamamoto also the garment is worn in both directions. The 81 -year -old Japanese in particular concluded his latest parade with a staging during which the models traded their black coat with a reversible purple lining, before leaving behind the scenes all dressed in purple.

Hijacking

At AlainPaul, the garment is diverted from its initial use. The young French brand transforms a coat into a skirt, wears its sweaters with a single round, the second almost served as a scarf, and rolls up its pants on the hips, the belt arriving largely on the thigh.

The sweaters and vests are also worn without the sleeves at Issey Miyake, the Japanese claw also offering top -shaped provisions.

The New York brand Vaquera caused a sensation with an XXL hat bra available in dress or top, a strap hanging on the shoulder, the other dragging on the ground, or even worn in skirt.

The French tenor of luxury Chanel has diverted jewelry, with bags modeled on huge necklaces of pearls worn in shoulder and other hand -shaped hand.

At Coperni, the sleeping bag turned into an elegant red or white strapless dress.

But the queen of this great diversion remains undoubtedly Ellen Hodakova Larsson, with a very personal reinterpretation of the pants. The Swedish designer, specialist in the upcycling, offered coats, jackets, skirts and dresses cut in recycled costume pants. Sometimes they even wear like a hood around the face.
