Soon 50 culinary merits in Switzerland

The prize for the “Swiss culinary merit” has been created in order to highlight the excellence of Swiss gastronomy and in particular that of the cook profession.

Each year, at the end of a national competition, this prestigious prize is awarded to four cooks whose activity has done or honor the profession, recognized for their excellence and their know-how as well as for the exercise of their art while respecting authentic products of Swiss culinary heritage. As well as two pastry chefs for two years.

All applications are examined by a national jury made up of experts and professionals in the food trades, from the three main linguistic regions of Switzerland. This jury attributes distinctions independently.

The prize of the “Swiss culinary merit” consists of a setting containing the insignia of merit. He was chosen following an international competition at the Lausanne cantonal school of art. The discount ceremony will take place with the participation of the Minister responsible for Vocational Training, the Federal Advisor, Guy Parmelin.

Monday, March 10, 2025, will be 5 Swiss culinary merits chefs-chefs and 3 culinary merit of pastry chefs that will be handed over to Bern. They will join the 42 merits already awarded. Switzerland has had its fifty merits since 2020.
