EMERGENCY WORK TO CONTINUE ON WESTBOUND I-70 IN FREDERICK COUNTY NEXT WEEK

Overnight Work will Close the Right Lane and Shoulder Closed Before the MD 17/Myersville Exit

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will continue to make emergency repairs to the bridge over Catoctin Creek on westbound I-70 just before Exit 42 to MD 17 in Myersville, Frederick County next week.

On Thursday, crews discovered a puncture in the bridge deck (driving surface). Starting Sunday, March 10 at 9 p.m., crews will close the right lane and shoulder. The work schedule is Sunday through Thursday from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.

A snooper truck will be used to allow the team to install planking underneath the bridge. The work is expected to be complete by April. Motorists are advised to use an alternative route during the overnight work and lane closure.
