Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company extricated a driver involved in a vehicle collision in the area of Ridge Rd and S Main St

This morning (February 23rd) at 0753 hours, the MAVFC was alerted for a vehicle collision with rescue in the area of Ridge Rd and S Main St. While units were enroute, the Mount Airy Police Department – MD arrived on scene and confirmed one trapped. Units arrived to find a multi-vehicle pile up with one patient requiring extrication. The Lieutenant off of Rescue 1 established command, while the crew stabilized the vehicle and extricated the patient. Two patients were transported to area hospitals by M18 and A19.

It has been a busy 24 hours for the MAVFC. Our Volunteer and Career members have responded to numerous fire, rescue, and EMS calls since yesterday morning. Additionally, Rescue 1 has responded to multiple working extrications this month.
