Frederick man arrested in Montgomery County and charged with obstructing, hindering and multiple handgun charges

Frederick Man Arrested for Handgun Possession

Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 6th District officers have arrested 23-year-old Zyree Keishon Niseir Wilson, of Frederick, MD, for allegedly displaying and discharging a handgun in a residential neighborhood in Gaithersburg.
On Saturday, January 27, 2024, at approximately 8:43 p.m., 6th District officers responded to the parking lot of the 9900 block of Ridgeline Drive in Gaithersburg for the report of a shooting.

The investigation has revealed that Wilson was seen displaying a handgun near a group of males in the parking lot. When officers arrived at the scene, Wilson and the other males ran away.

Officers established a perimeter and searched for Wilson. In the area of Ridgeline Drive and Watkins Mill Road, officers located Wilson who continued running away. Officers chased after Wilson and took him into custody in the 10600 block of Stedwick Road.
A search of Wilson revealed a loaded handgun in his waistband.

Through the law enforcement databases, officers determined that Wilson was prohibited from possessing a firearm and that he had two active arrest warrants for drug and traffic offenses out of Frederick City, Maryland.

Wilson was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he was charged with obstructing and hindering and multiple handgun charges, including possession of a handgun, possessing a loaded handgun, illegally possessing a handgun and illegally possessing ammunition. He has been released on an unsecured $500 personal bond.
