Sykesville Freedom District Fire Department requested Maryland State Police Aviation Command assistance with the transport of patient of a medical emergency

Reported by Sykesville Freedom District Fire Department on February 11th:

Just before 5:20 pm on February 11th Engine 123, with 2 volunteers and 2 CCDFEMS staff, and Medic 128 were alerted for a medical emergency. Due to the severe nature of the call, a decision was made to request Maryland State Police – Aviation Command to assist with the transport of the patient.

Engine 123 advised a landing zone would be set up at Freedom Park. Captain 12 responded to assist with the landing zone. Trooper 3 landed and patient care was transferred to them for transport.


During this time Chief 12-1 and Utility 12 with a total of 3 volunteers handled another incident in the area.
