Carroll County finally got some “real” snowfall yesterday (January 15th) and the local school system (Carroll Count Public Schools) decided to cancel school for the day on January 16th.
At 7:09pm on January 15th the school system sent out “Due to inclement weather, schools will be opening two hours late on Tuesday, January 16, with a re-evaluation by 7:15 a.m.”
Then this morning (January 16th) at 5:57am the school system sent out this update: UPDATE: Schools will be closed today, Tuesday, January 16. Offices, including central office, will open at 10 a.m.
The Observer went outside early this morning to get an unofficial look at the amount of snow we got in the county:
While this is FAR from official…we got 5 inches of snow in the Gamber / Finksburg area of Carroll County.
