Predictions: I will make my predictions based on the numbers: as of today there are 12,363 mail in votes yet to be counted

Commissioner District 3: Zach Hand has conceded this race on November 8th:

Tom Gordon also posted the following on November 8th:

Board of Education: Given the numbers after Election Day I believe that Tara Battaglia and Steve Whisler are going to be on the Board of Education for the next term. The race now is for the third seat this election cycle.

Jim Miller holds a 4,166 vote advantage over current Board member Patricia Dorsey. With the number of mail in ballots remaining, this third seat may still be in play. I believe we will find out how this third seat ends up after November 10th (1st mail in ballot canvass)

My analysis and gut tells me that Amanda Jozkowski and Tom Scanlan will not be elected this election cycle.

As a breakdown of mail in votes:

  • 6,064 mail in ballots are from Democrats
  • 4,263 mail in ballots are from Republicans
  • 2,036 mail in ballots are from “Others”

We will see soon if my projections are correct.

Future activities:

Mail-In Ballot Canvass will be held on Thursday, November 10 beginning at 10 a.m. and Friday, November 18 beginning at 10 a.m in the Robert Moton Gym – 300 S Center St. Westminster, MD 21157

Provisional Ballot Canvass will be held on Wednesday, November 16 beginning at 10 a.m. in the Robert Moton Gym – 300 S Center St. Westminster, MD 21157

A final election wrap up article will be published when all the votes are counted (after November 18th).
