The Carroll County Observer will be tracking the early voting turnout throughout the 2022 General Election (Oct 27th – Nov 3rd).

Here is a recap of early voting in Carroll County on Day 1:

Day 1 total votes cast in Carroll County: 1,744

  • Westminster had the lion share of early voters on day 1 (942 votes cast at that location).

Of the 1,744 votes cast on day 1:

  • 497 are registered Democrats
  • 28 are registered Green, Libertarian or Other
  • 1,015 are registered Republicans
  • 204 are registered as Unaffiliated / Independent

The 1,744 votes cast makes up 1.37% of eligible voters in the county. This percentage topped the statewide turnout (1.06% statewide on day 1).

Looking back at the past 2 Gubernatorial elections…day one of early voting:

2018: 2,122 votes cast on day 1 of early voting (2 early voting locations)

2014: 1,182 votes case on day 1 of early voting (1 early voting location)
